Yinyang and Wuxing
Chinese Yinyang and Wuxing is a way to interpret the rule of the life, nature and the universe.

Yinyang indicates the balance of the universe, and the harmony of the nature; Wuxing reveals the integration of the life, and the transform of the energy.

There is a general understanding of the Wuxing, which is the physical level of the five elements - wood, fire, metal, water and earth. The five elements have a generatory cycle as well as a governing cycle.

There is another way to expain the Wuxing, which related to the moving of the energy. Ancient named the energy as 'Qi', which is similar to 'Qigong'.
Wood, transpiration of the Qi. Like spring, woods are growing. Represents the radiation of the energy.
Fire, upraising of the Qi. Like summer, heat are going up. Represents the sending of the energy.
Gold, convergence of the Qi. Like autumn, woods are shrinking. Represents the condensation of the energy.
Water, subsidence of the Qi. Like winter, water is deep down. Represents the receiving of the energy.
Earth, serenity of the Qi. Like midsummer, breath is holding. Represents the persistence of the energy.
